T-Day
Ever pondered, why it’s always so damn impressive, when a hitchhiker, who has travelled through thousands and thousands of miles getting robbed, harassed, assailed and forced to buy drugs after reaching Morocco’s borders still manages to know exactly where his towel is?
As a tribute to the late author, Douglas Adams – also known as the frood who always knew where his towel was – Towel Day is celebrated every 25th of May. Towels are toted around internationally by fans – showing respect to the author’s imaginativeness and the ability to break the laws of physics and getting away with it.
The now an annual-event was first held in 2001 – two weeks after the author’s passing away – inspired by an article posted on Binary Freedom. The commemoration now even has a website completely dedicated to it, giving information when, how and where to show your fellow hitchhikerness.
